<p>WOW &#8211; What an amazing start to the New Year! The success of the book Sacred Spaces has been beyond the wildest of dreams, and it’s only been out a few weeks. We could not have known the amount of people it would touch, or the lives that it would change.</p>



<p>I remember back to a few months ago when I was asked to participate in this book project and even though the deadline was incredibly short and I had no idea HOW it would happen, I still had complete FAITH that it would. When we are clear with our intentions, the universe organizes on our behalf. And now, I’ve courageously shared my story and my ‘go-to’ tool that helps me shift when I need it the most.</p>

<p>Where does kindness come from?  It stems from the heart, and it is our nature, or who we are. Without kindness towards ourselves first, we are unlikely to be kind to others.</p>



<p><br>Author Don Miguel Ruiz said in <em>The Four Agreements</em> to be Impeccable with our Word. “Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.” This starts with our own word to ourselves. How do you speak to your Self on a daily basis? Are you <em>impeccable</em> with what you say to YOU? Being kind to ourselves begins with our own internal dialogue. With awareness, select adoring words to say to thee.</p>



<p><br>As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s create a new tradition:  make a list of all of the things you appreciate about your Self. Be GENEROUS here, and notice when the mind creeps in with criticism. Close your eyes, settle into your heart and ask: What am I really grateful for, about ME? This is not selfish or self-centered to ask these questions, because without you, there is none of it. Speak to yourself as you would a friend; with loving kindness.</p>

									<p>More than ever, the topic of mental health is on everyone’s minds. Employers are remarkably aware of the need for health and life coaches or therapists in addition to standard medical and dental benefits. This is a welcome shift for sure, and highlights how far we’ve come as a society in de-stigmatizing mental health care.</p><p><a href="http://www.modernhealth.com">Modern Health</a> recently held a virtual summit entitled <a href="https://www.modernhealth.com/elevate">Elevate 2021</a> which emphasized this conversation and included some amazing speakers and topics. To lure and retain top talent, focusing on WHOLE health is of the utmost importance in this current market. Also, the experience of burnout is omnipresent and providing opportunities for self-care has never been more essential.</p><p>“A growing share of U.S. adults have in recent years said they’ve experienced a mental illness, according to federal surveys. After the pandemic hit in 2020, the share of U.S. residents reporting symptoms of anxiety and depression rose, and overdose deaths shot up by <a href="https://www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-and-analysis/blogs/stateline/2021/08/12/drug-deaths-soar-prompting-new-crackdowns-and-funding">31% compared with the year before</a>.&#8221; </p><p>Finally, a real shift in consciousness on the planet is apparent! This gives me hope for the future and accentuates the possibility of happier people in work and in life. Hiring a coach or learning to meditate is now more accepted than ever and providing both to individuals and companies has me feeling extremely grateful.</p><p>What will you do to support your own mental health this month or this year? And, who do you know that is burnt out and close to a breakdown that could use some new tools to cultivate our fast-moving world? If anything, the last 18 months has shown us that life is uncertain and there is only right now to be living to our fullest potential.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong>The future requires us all to take GREAT care of our Selves!</strong></em></p>								</div>

									<p>We all have so much to be grateful for. We hear this a lot. And, it’s true. But usually we are grateful for all of the ‘things’ around us, or what we have in our lives currently.</p><p>Did you know that Gratitude is the most <em>healing </em>of all emotions for the heart muscle? (Read more about <em>coherence</em> here: <a href="https://www.heartmath.com/science/">https://www.heartmath.com/science/</a>) What if you could begin each day with the <em>feeling</em> of gratitude for something you are intending to happen? This is where the real power of manifestation lies, in our ability to create a new future with just our thoughts and emotions.</p><p>Sit down. Close your eyes. Begin by taking a few DEEP breaths….just breathe. Become aware of what it is you’d like to create. A new job…a new home &#8211; a sanctuary to relax in but also entertain? Perhaps a new relationship… Anything you desire &#8211; dream BIG here, see it with all of your imagination, like you’re watching a movie. See yourself in this future. What are you doing? Where are you going? Who are you doing and going with? Sense the connection with others, welcome this interaction with other humans. What is the <em>experience</em> of this new future? Observe who you are BEing. What are the sights, sounds, smells and tastes? Open your heart to this new future. Receive it.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Now, notice the feeling of <em>gratitude</em> for this future you’ve created, as if it’s already here. Sense the excitement, the anticipation. What we have currently in our lives was created months ago. The <em>future</em>, however, is created in the present moment. Stay here…enJOY this sensation. Allow your Self to receive ALL of it. You are deserving. You are worthy. You are loved.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Stay with this feeling as long as you like. When you’re ready, return to your breath and to the space around you. Acknowledge your Self as a powerful Creator. THIS is what you are. You can be, do, and have anything that you desire. OM Ritam Namah (My intentions and desires are supported by the Universe). <p>I crave FREEDOM.  Always and in all ways.  When I am free it is expansive; anything is possible, and there are <em>no limits </em>to life’s adventures.</p>

<p>No one predicted this past year, in any way. We are not used to feeling out of control and that all is uncertain, though it ALWAYS is!  The illusion of life as we know it has come undone.</p>
<p>I spent last year counting my blessings and stayed put in my work for fear of <em>too</em> much change at once.  But now, what was working is no longer working.  On the plus side, there is lots of opportunity.  But we just have to be willing to tell the truth about what we <em>really</em> want.  <br />For lots of us, admitting we are unhappy in our current situation feels selfish, esp. when so many have suffered so much worse!  We bite our tongue, take what we’re given and don’t complain out loud for fear of the karma Gods to come down and bite us in the arse.</p>

<p>How can we contain our desire for change without going insane?</p>

<p>Well, first we must identify what our deepest driving desire IS:  “You are what your <strong>deep</strong>, <strong>driving desire</strong> is. As you <strong>desire</strong>, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.&#8221; &#8211;<em>Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV.4.5</em></p>
<p>To uncover our deepest desires, we must go to the core of ourselves, deep within.  When you ask:  “What do I REALLY want?”  what comes up?  Your first thought might be:  “I want money.”  But, what does money give you?  It gives the <em>experience</em> of FREEDOM, yes?   Perhaps you want peace….but where is peace found?  It is found in the PRESENT!  Are you practicing present moment awareness?  If you’re in your head ruminating about the past or anticipating the future, you’re not. </p>
<p></p>
<p>Hire a coach or someone to guide you by asking the right questions.  Also, having a daily meditation practice is the only way to access the seeds of our desires within us.  What do you crave at the SOUL level?  What does your SPIRIT have a hankering for, and what would it FEEL like if it were happening <em>right now</em>?</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 1.6rem; font-weight: 400; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif;">It’s been a doozy of a year (and a half!) so remember to be easy on yourself.  What this looks like is extra compassion, enjoying the small things that bring the most pleasure, just </span><em style="font-size: 1.6rem; font-weight: 400; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif;">because</em><span style="font-size: 1.6rem; font-weight: 400; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif;">.  </span></p>

<p>Life is ALWAYS uncertain.  Control is just an illusion. Satisfy your most intense cravings, <em>pronto.  </em>There is no more time to lose.</p>

									<div>Limiting beliefs are those recurring thoughts in our heads about how we aren’t good enough, smart enough, blah blah blah.  They are not the truth, yet they hit us like an alien on the face when we least expect them.  Releasing the alien and shifting into a brand new experience of life is a PROCESS!  Here are the steps:</div><div> </div><div><strong>Step #1:</strong> To change our beliefs, we must first become aware of them.  What is the current experience you would like to change or improve?  Ask:  what belief must I have in order to have this experience?  </div><div> </div><div><strong>Step #2: </strong> Now, what is the experience you would PREFER to have?  FEEL into that experience with your whole Self.  Envision it clearly in your mind, as if you were watching a movie, frame by frame.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Step #3: </strong> What is the belief one would need to have to have the experience you felt in Step #2?  Write that new belief several times until the new experience is <i>created </i>(FEEL it in your whole body/Self).</div><div> </div><div><strong>Step #4:</strong>  Lastly, DECLARE it with intention to create this new experience as a reality.  When we take absolute faith, the path to opportunity will open.</div><div> </div><div>Repeat this process as often as you need to release limiting beliefs and be aware that this process takes time.  Be EASY on YOU!</div>								</div>
