Tips for Self-Care During Office Hours

Whether we are working in an office or at home and on Zoom calls all day long, most of us are finding ourselves easily distracted and more fatigued than ever during and after our workday(s). Be present, stay grounded, and move your body to break up the monotony and help keep health and overall happiness in check. Practice one or two of these and then add a couple more each week to see which ones make the biggest difference for YOU!

  • • Put your phone away in your purse or desk drawer so you can be single-task focused
  • • Bring in an essential oil diffuser for some aromatherapy and a soothing sound
  • • Take a break every 2 hours to do some simple stretches in your chair or go for a brisk walk
  • • Stay Present – stop what you’re doing and BREATHE
  • • Check your posture – shoulders are meant to be back (not forward) and take out the sway in your low back
  • • Plant your feet underneath you and feel the support of Mother Earth
  • • Light a candle or incense to invoke relaxation and as a reminder to slow down
  • • Organize your workspace at the end of each workday so that you are ready to go the next morning
  • • SMILE as you bring to mind several blessings already present in your life
